Urban Biology Curriculum Series (E/1, 2)
Description: Teaching and learning require active participation to fully utilize and understand the wonders of the complex world around us. However, with little or no funding for off-site field trips and with a concentration on testing, many educators are bound to their school sites. To this end, three unique science curricula that have been developed as part of the Tucson Audubon Society's Urban Biology Series make use of the countless, living-science subjects just outside the school doors: Desert Birding in Arizona, Urban Weeds, and Arthropodantics (arthropods). Cost: $10 each; available in the Tucson Audubon Nature Shop.
